About Sophia Hotung
Sophia Hotung is a Eurasian writer and illustrator from Hong Kong. Growing up, Sophia wished there were more books for her to read that reflected her experiences as a Hong Kong kid. As an adult, she now writes children's and adult fiction about and set in Hong Kong. Her favourite part of her job is visiting schools like Wycombe Abbey for workshops, readings, and assemblies.
Sophia is best known for creating The Hong Konger art collection. Her new book, titled The (Unlikely) Hong Konger chronicles the backstory behind the collection’s creation and is available across Hong Kong English-language booksellers. She has also just launched a video audiobook of the book here.
Sophia is a winner of the South China Morning Post Spirit of Hong Kong Culture award, a recipient of Harper's Bazaar Visionary Women award, a member of Tatler Gen.T, and a two-time finalist for Hong Kong's American Chamber of Commerce's Women of Influence: Young Changemaker Award. Her recent TEDx talk with TEDxTinHauWomen was recently selected as an international TEDx Editor's Pick.
