A childhood friend commissioned me to create the logo for his new cryptocurrency (back when those were all the rage). Pacific Coin's mission centred on marine environmentalism and the client wanted to incorporate references to the Pacific Ocean's geography and marine life. Inspired by Chinese coins with their holes in them, I incorporated negative space and used Hokusai's Great Wave off Kanagawa as a reference to create a mirrored logo, ressembling an "ocean coin".
