Kids' Gallery's summer production of 'Alice in Wonderland' required one fixed backdrop which would reflect the whole story of the show and be appropriate for every scene. I riffed on the idea of the rabbit hole, chronologically placing elements from Lewis Carroll's story along the tunnel from right to left.
